Before transitioning full-time to real estate, Mr. McDowell built a distinguished career in federal law enforcement and military service. He most recently served as Deputy Assistant Inspector General for Investigations, providing executive oversight of national law enforcement programs, investigative strategy, and agency operations. His career also includes more than a decade with the U.S. Secret Service and the Treasury Inspector General’s Office of Investigations, where he led complex cases involving financial crimes, undercover operations, and critical protective missions.
Sean’s military service began in 1993 as a Cavalry Scout in the U.S. Army Reserves and later as a commissioned Navy Intelligence Officer. He completed multiple overseas deployments, including leadership roles in support of special operations forces, and retired from the U.S. Navy Reserves as a Lieutenant Commander.
He holds a Bachelor of Science from Penn State University, an MBA in International Business from the University of Baltimore, and advanced education from the Naval War College and American University’s Executive Leadership program.
